First World War Memorial. Circa 1920. Granite and bronze. A tapering column of square plan with re-entrant corners, raised on steps and splayed outwards at bottom where rests on base. Above a moulded cornice is a cap with flaming urn. Facing the road there is a carved wreath. Attached to the front, on a base with curved front, is a bronze statue of a woman holding an olive branch. Attached to the base is a plaque inscribed. "Wait but for the yield of all our toil and God shall not forget". Attached to the left and right hand return sides of the base are bronze relief panels. The left hand one shows an infantry scene. The right hand one shows ships with biplanes flying overhead.
